Do you grow everything that goes into your boxes?

We try and grow as much of the produce as we can however to ensure we have a good variety of produce available we do source produce from other local growers, particularly over winter.

Do I get to choose what I get in my box?

Yes! Every Monday you can log onto our website and select from our list what you would like in your Produce Box that week.  To see what is available this week click here. Or if you don't want to choose you can leave it to us and we will pack you a Mystery Box full of our best produce.

Is everyting in your boxes certified organic?

All the produce that is grown on Symara Farm is certified organic with Organic Growers of Australia.  We do source produce from other local growers most of whom are also certified organic but are few are organic but not certified.  On the list of produce available it will tell you if the product is organic or chemical free and who and where the farmer is.

I only want to eat LOCAL produce

Our produce is grown at 45 Dunns Road, The Summit, Queensland.  We do source produce from other farmers to ensure we have variety, however these are genearlly also local farmers that we know.  The furtherest we would ever source produce from is tomatoes from Bundaberg in winter.  We believe in minimising our carbon miles as much as possible.

How much do you get in a box?

If you select your own produce from our website you will recieve 12 'items' of fruit and vege in your box.  If you choose to get a Mystery Box you will recieve 13 'items' in your box for the same price. Examples of the size of each 'item' are: a bunch of silverbeet, 1/2 pumpkin, 1kg of apples, 3 limes, 700g tomatoes.

How much does it cost to subscribe?

Each box costs $35.  As a subscriber you pay for boxes in advance, with 4 boxes being the minimum subscription ($140) and a 10% discount if you subscribe for 10 boxes or more reducing the price per box to $31.50.

What if a box a week is too much for me?

No worries.  You can either find a friend to split the box with or you can get a box every second week.  We are happy to have a chat and find out what works best for you.

What if I am going away on holidays in the middle of a subscription?

No worries.  All you need to do is let us know when you will be away and we put your subscription on hold until you come back.  It is important to let us know because if you don't log on and make you selection for the week and you don't let us know, a Mystery Box will automatically be generated for you.

What if I forget or am too busy to place an order?

If you are a current subscriber then you will automatically get a Mystery Box if you forget or a too busy to place an order, which means you will always have freash organic produce every week no matter how busy you are.

Is that plastic mulch I can see in some of your pictures?

Yes and No. The black film we use to suppress weeds in our vegetables is actually a biodegradable plastic made from corn protein.

We are often in contact with other farmers, and in the future will be helping other farmers to start their own CSA boxes.  If you sign up to our mailing list here or send us an , we will let you know if a farm close to you wants to start a CSA box.
